Calvin was born in Tampa, Florida on January 29, 1950, to Calvin McCray, Jr., and Bernice McCray. Calvin retired from Tampa Electric Company with over 30 years of service. He founded the architectural design firm C&E Designs of Tampa, Inc. in 2003.

He was a faithful and committed member of Revealing Truth Ministries for 29 years.

Calvin is survived by his loving wife, Evelyn McCray; children, Adrian McCray (Deborah), Dr. Andrea N. McCray, Alex McCray, Sr. (Marilan), and Demetri Scott (Dionnie); grandchildren, Alexis McCray, Aevin McCray, Alex McCray, Jr., Tiana Scott, and Calvin Scott.
