Homegoing Service for Mr. Carl Lorenzo Ballard of Tampa who passed away, Thursday, November 8, 2012, will be held Saturday, November 17th, 2:00 p.m. at the graveside, Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery, 4615 E. Hanna Ave., Tampa, Florida 33610, Minister Coller Williams, officiating. Interment will follow. Carl was born August 12, 1956 in Montgomery, Alabama and was a long time resident of Tampa, Florida. As a child Carl loved to play baseball, basketball and enjoyed drawing. He was preceded in death by his mother, Minnie Floyd, grandmothers, Essie Pean Ballard and Jeffie Ballard and grandfathers, George Ballard and Math Ballard. He leaves to cherish his memory: son, Collin Longstreet Ballard; granddaughter, Collaysha Longstreet Ballard; father, Hoover Ballard; brother, Willie Ballard; sisters, Jacqueline Archibald and husband, Relston, Jeffrie Miller and husband, Larry, Minister Coller Williams and Katrina Ballard; uncle, Joe Ballard; nieces, Tazmin and Taryn Archibald, Janelle and Shayna Brooks, Alexis Ballard, Treneshia Maddox, Jayla Ballard and grandniece, Dakota Maddox; nephews, Christopher Ballard and Cameron Miller; grandnephews, Zemberiah Strong and Derrick Hunter; and a host of loving cousins, other relatives and friends. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home, Friday, November 16th, from 5 to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the service on Saturday.
