Homegoing Celebration for Ms. Carla Michelle Fields of Tampa who passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2014, God called home a very precious life to rest, will be held on Saturday, May 31st, 2:00 p.m. at Greater New Salem Primitive Baptist Church, 1605 N. Nebraska Ave., Elder Theodis Lane, pastor with Pastor Gregory T. Hill of First John Ministry Church, officiating. Carla Michelle Fields was born on June 27, 1968 in Tampa, Florida to Oliver Bernard Fields, Sr. and Gwendolyn Fields she was the second oldest of six siblings. Michelle as she was affectionately called by her middle name was employed at Express Scripts and was a member of Jackson Heights Church of Christ which she had just recently re-dedicated her life to Christ. She enjoyed making people laugh, the compassion and love she possessed was extended to everyone she encountered. Michelle was also known for her generous heart and her unwavering effort to help others. Michelle was a very loving and caring mother who enjoyed spending quality time with her children. She was very involved in their activities of interest and took great pleasure in discussing and preparing her children for their future and life's endeavors. She was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Ruth Cherry and Mother Mattie Gaines and cousins, Talvin Bowman and Kimberly Carr. She leaves to cherish loving and fond memories with her 2 children, Jerriel Emile and Jahtanna Alsint; parents, Oliver Bernard Fields, Sr. (Ethel) and Gwendolyn Fields (Clyde); 2 brothers, Oliver Bernard Fields, Jr. (Stephanie) and Wayne Fields; 3 sisters: Tanya Fields (Tyrone), Quanda West (CW) and Felicia Fields (Otis); aunts, Gloria Bowman, Cynthia Reeves, Patricia Strawder and Patricia Walker (Rev. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, May 30th from 5 to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
