Carmen Louise Manning was born on June 17, 1943, in Manchester, Jamaica to the late James and Hilda Manning.


She moved to the United States in 1982 where she lived in Brooklyn, New York for a brief time before relocating to Miami, FL.
Carmen lived a simple life. She worked as a caretaker and in housekeeping. She enjoyed baking sweet potato pudding and doing cross word puzzles, and she would not miss a day of watching her soap operas.


She dedicated her life to Christ in 1999 and was a dedicated member of First Baptist Church of North Miami Beach until she relocated to Tampa in 2013, where she then attended Carrollwood Baptist Church. Carmen began her transition from this life to be with her Heavenly father on Tuesday, September 6th, 2022.


She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Hilda Manning; sisters, Phyllis and Doris Manning; son-in-law, John P. West; and grandson, John P. West III.


She leaves precious memories with her children, Hilda West, Sharon Ferguson, and Megon Gilliam (Robert); grandchildren, Keri West, Alicia Ferguson, Janisha West, Shaniece Noel, Tracy Ferguson, and Jasmine Taylor; great-grandchildren, Victoria Greene, Raiden West-Hall, and Karter Graham; brothers, Hopeton Johnson, Lionel Manning (Inez), and Nevil Manning (Beverly); sisters, Verna Robinson and Patricia Manning; nieces, Michelle Manning, Hilda Johnson, Ashley Manning, Shirley Sappelton, and Winsome Thompson; and a host of nephews, cousins, and friends.
