A homegoing celebration for Mrs. Carolyn Moore Valdez of Tampa, Florida who passed away on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 will be held Saturday, August 26th, 11:00 a.m. at Revelation Community M.B. Church, 7225 E. Chelsea St., Dr. Rev. Gregory B. Robinson, pastor, officiating. The interment will be in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida. Carolyn was born December 16, 1953 in Bainbridge, Georgia, to Predent and Willie Mae Moore, Sr. Carolyn graduated high school in Wilmington, Delaware. She continued her education at University of Wilmington Delaware, Wilmington, Delaware, Hillsborough Community College, Tampa, Florida and University of South Florida, Tampa, Florida. She retired from the State of Florida, Department of Children and Families. Carolyn was a member of Revelation Community M.B. Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Predent and Willie Mae Moore, Sr.; grandparents, Jim and Leola Jackson Bell; siblings, Elizabeth Moore Gibson, Hazel Denise, and Johnny Moore and mother-in-law, Vellena Valdez. She leaves to cherish her memories a loving and devoted husband of 41 years, Raymond Valdez, Sr.; children, Kimberly Pierre (Jean Raynold), Ft. Myers, FL., Brittany, Carlos (Christine), and Raymond Valdez, Jr., all of Tampa, FL; grandchildren, Alanna and Jaiden Valdez, Josiah, Amos Pierre, Carianna, Carlos, Jr., Carissa, and Kanisha Valdez; siblings, John D. Warren, Rufus Moore (Linda), Mary Louise Moore, Amanda Moore Sanders, Melvin, Dorothy, Keith, Kenneth, and Predent Moore, Jr. Mildred Williams (Eddie), Gary Moore (Tina), Lisa Gail Moore (Jack), Corey Moore, Gloria Murphy and Sheryl Clark, all of Tampa; father-in-law, Frank Valdez, Sr.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Frankye (Jaudon), Frank, Jr., Tony (Sandra), Cinderella, Alphonso, Valerie, and Angela Valdez, Lorraine Williams and Loretta Robinson (Dr. Rev. Gregory Robinson), all of Tampa; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and other sorrowing relatives and friends; special friends, Naneita Redrick (Clarence), Jacquelyn Tensely-Jones, Linda Black-Moreno and Sheila Thomas; a host of grieving relatives and friends. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, August 25th, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
