A memorial celebration for Mrs. Carrie Mae Bandy-Nelson of Tampa, FL who passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2016 will be held on Thursday, June 7th, 6:00 p.m. at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.,Pastor Delbert Means, officiating. The interment will follow. Carrie was born in New York, NY to the late John Bandy and Susan B. Ward on February 28, 1943. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Bandy and Susan B. Ward; brother, Charlie Ward-Bandy and son Darrell Nelson. She leaves to cherish her memories with her children, Paris W. Nelson (Sharon), Nadine Green, (Carl), Darren J. Nelson, Susan B. Timmons (Nick), Kenneth J. Nelson (Alicia), Carla Means (Delbert), Reginald Nelson, Mister Nelson, Sandria Thomas and Willie Dismuke, Jr.; 30 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; sisters, Khadeejah Abdullah (Elaine) of Sumter, SC and Elizabeth Bandy of New York and a host of nieces, nephews, and special friends. The family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home on Thursday evening for the service.
