Homegoing services for Mr. Carter Eugene Reed, Sr. of 717 W. Virginia Avenue, who passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2010, will be held on Saturday, January 30th, 11:00 a.m., 29th Street Church of Christ, 3310 N. 29th Street, Brother Johnson, officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Cemetery. Carter was born October 19, 1956 in Tampa. He served in the United States Army for a number of years, and was a dedicated supervisor at Americold Logistics until his illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louise Reed and Cleveland Diggs, and his brother Michael Reed. He is survived by his wife, Darlene Vernon Reed; son, Carter Eugene Reed, Jr.; and stepdaughter, Erika Carter (William). A very devoted uncle and father figure, Donnie Paul Hicks (Eugenia). Loving and devoted sisters, Mattie Richardson, Janie Coley-Archie (Clarence), Pastor Lena Boyd (Jerry), Brenda Diane Reed, Joann William, Diana Diggs; brothers, Anthony Diggs and Arthur Diggs, all of Tampa, Florida; uncles, Cotis Hicks (Lillie Mae), Trenton, New Jersey, Albert Hicks (Ailene), Birmingham, Alabama; aunts, Carrie Mae Brown, Newark, Delaware, Nellie Smith, Eufaula, Alabama, Nellie Hicks and Mollie Hicks, Tampa, Florida; nephews, Freddie Reed and Willie Reed, Los Angeles, California, Darrell Richardson (Cassandra), Tampa, Florida, Jessie Stuckey, Jr. (Yvette), Jeffrey Stuckey (Jessica), Tampa, Florida, Ronald Ragan, Dallas, Texas, Jessie Coley, III, Tampa, Florida; nieces, Lynette Richardson, Miami, Florida, Deborah Jones (Pastor Wilfred), Dee Coley, Melissa Reed, all of Tampa, Florida, and a host of step-grandchildren, great and great-great nephews and nieces, cousins and friends, a loving and devoted companion, Karen Byard and family; Thaddeus Cuyler, James and Kerrie Pabon and children, Kiara, Jermaine and Jazmine, Eugene White and Bernice Rease. The viewing will be held at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel from 5-8 p.m. on Friday evening. Family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Family and friends are asked to meet at the Church on Saturday.
