A homegoing celebration for Mrs. Catherine Porter English of Tampa, Florida who passed away on Friday, December 21, 2018 will be held Saturday, December 29th, 2:00 p.m. at Aikens Funeral Home, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Rev. Michael Neely, officiating. Catherine was born March 28, 1934 in Albany, Georgia. She attended

Church of Christ. Catherine was a fantastic cook, she enjoyed cooking for the neighborhood and selling chili dogs. Having get togethers, she always loved reading her Bible. She helped raise her grandchildren. She was known for having neighborhood garage sales. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie English; parents, Isiah and Alice Porter; granddaughter, Shannette Denise Hill; sisters, Addie Bell-Erving White, Marsha Nelson and Mary Francis Lawson; brothers, Mammon Porter, Charlie Porter and David Porter; nephew, Robert Lee Porter. She leaves to cherish her precious memories with her son, Louis Neal Hill, Jr. (Clara Mitchell-Hill); grandchildren, Mitchum Justin Murray, Louis Anthony Murray and Louis Neal Hill, III; great-grandchildren, Island Murray, Ocean Murray and Lauren Hill; nieces, Mary Alice Monts, Nettie Mae Dennis, Sara Jean Porter, Betty Jean Warren, Bessie Carradine, Janice Homer Carr, Mary Jean Porter and Kathy Dennis; nephews, George Dennis, Marvin Porter, Freddie Warren, Isaiah Nelson, Leroy Nelson, Edwin Erving, Emmett Nelson, George Dennis, William Dennis, Willie Nelson, Otis Nelson and Arthur Nelson; a host of other relatives and friends that will miss her. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, December 28th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel on Saturday for the service.
