Homegoing celebration for Mrs. Catherine J. Pearson of Tampa who passed away Friday, September 6, 2013, will be held Saturday, September 14th at 11:00 a.m., at St. James House of Prayer Episcopal Church, 2708 N. Central Avenue, Rev. Earnestine Flemister Pastor, officiating. Catherine J. Pearson was born April 20, 1926 to the late Lucious Jackson and Lottie B. Baldwin in Tampa, Florida. She was affiliated with St. Peter Claver Catholic Church and St. James (House of Prayer) Episcopal Church. She was a member of the Hampton's Alumni Tampa Chapter, Sigma Gamma Rho Philo's Tampa Chapter, RAP (Retired and Proud) Tampa Chapter and the St. James Lincoln Douglas Ball Committee. Catherine enjoyed attending social affairs and eating out at fancy restaurants. She was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip L. Pearson; father, Lucious Jackson; mother, Lottie B. Jackson and grandchildren, Evanae T. Echols, Lakesia C. Echols and Karlany C. Echols. She leaves to cherish fond and loving memories with children, Marcia E. Hawkins, Sharon A. Echols-Pearson and Phillip L. Pearson; grandchildren, Miguel A. Mitchell, Ramone D. Echols and Pierre A. Pearson; great grandchildren, Michael A. Mitchell, Joshua K. Mitchell, Chris E. Mitchell, N'Dea A. Pearson, Pierre A. Pearson, Jr. and Jada A. Pearson and great great grandchild, Aidan Z. Bell. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, September 13th from 5 to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
