A Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Cecilia Elizabeth Jones Harris of Tampa, FL who passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2017 will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at Grace Mary M.B. Church, 3901 N. 37th Street, Elder James Reed, pastor, Elder Terry Roe and Pastor Antonio Hawkins, officiating. The interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Cecilia Elizabeth Jones Harris 'baby sister" was born on February 18, 1937 in Tampa FL. She was educated in the public school system in Tampa and Miami, FL.She graduated from Don Thompson vocational high school (Blake high school). Cecilia was employed as an L.P.N in Sacramento, California and Corpus Christi, Texas. She later returned to Tampa, FL and married Calvin Harris. Cecilia then became a full timehome domestic engineer. Cecilia was baptized and made a commitment of faith in Jesus Christ at an early age and embodied strong Christian values and principles that were instilled in her and her siblings by her parents. Cecilia's favorite scripture is 23rd Psalms. Cecilia was very wise, loving and passionate about giving and helping others. Her laughter was contagious, and it was like food for the soul. Her wit, humor andspiritual outlook on life could make the best situation look even brighter.Anyone that was blessed to be in her presence became enriched with her bountiful wisdom. Cecilia was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil Jones, Sr., And Angeline Jones-Devine; sisters, Claretha Young, Daisy Jones and Shirley Jones; brothers, Cecil Jones, Jr., and Sylvester Jones and niece, Cheryl Carter. She leaves to cherish loving memories with her daughters, Joyce Christopher, Sylvia Harris and April Jenkins (Fiance' Marcus Davidson); grandchildren, Leonard Boone, Leon Christopher, Latesha Christopher, Lavell Christopher, Latoya Christopher, Laron Christopher, Tiandra Barker, Tiarra Barker, Deandre' Saunders, D'nyla Davidson and Miquel Hancock; 17 great-grandchildren;sister, Gloria Jones of Miami; cousin, Bennie Small, Jr.; nieces, Debra Young, Christine Young, Antoinette Wilson, Darlene Young, Cynthia Butler Yolanda Gipson and Bridgette Gipson; (3) special nieces (like daughters), Angelina Jones, Anita Jones and Tawanda Johnson; nephews, Archie Young, Alton Gipson and Lawrence Jones (Penny); sister-in-law, Delores Jones of Maryland; brother-in-law, Solomon Grooms of Pittsburg, Pa.; special god-child (like a daughter), Priscilla Upshaw; god children: Seretha Godwin, Lanita Davis,Dara Conyers, Daniel Davis, Lenwood Williams, David English, Demetric Lucas, Shante Conley, Legina Gage, Michelle Buchanan, Martine Longuefosse and Fara Toussaint; god-grands, Darious Mccall, Tynesha Williams, Adrian Shoemaker, Jr., Jermaries Porcher, Rynise'a Crawford, Kareem Mcilwain Jr., Takiyah Adderley, Jeremiah Johnson, Cameron Conley and Angel Longuefosse; a host of other great nieces and great nephews; long life best friend, Mrs. Sammie Davis. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral on Friday, January 20th from 5 to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
