A Homegoing Celebration for Mr. Charles Bolden of Tampa, Florida who passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2020 will be held Friday, January 10th, 10:00 a.m. at Macedonia M.B. Church, 9750 Rockhill Rd, Thonotosassa, Florida, Rev. Dr. Willie Richardson, Sr., pastor, officiating. The interment will be held in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida. Charles Bolden was born June7, 1924 in River Junction, Florida to the late Eddie and Idell Bolden. He completed his formal education in River Junction public schools. He was drafted to the U.S. Army after high school. He attended Bethune Cookman College in Daytona Beach, Florida. During his studies at Bethune, he interacted with the founder, Mrs. Mary McCloud Bethune. He graduated with advanced studies in Electrical Engineering and received his Bachelor of Science degree.He also taught at a Middle School in Ocala, Florida as an Industrial Arts Teacher. He enjoyed electronics, mathematical reasonings, Biblical knowledge, prayer meetings and bible study. Charles married Merle (Bradford) Christmas Eve, December 24, 1970. To this union a son was born, Chamal Bolden; he also has a stepdaughter, Rhonda Bradford. He was a faithful member of Macedonia M.B. Church of Thonotosassa, Florida. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie and Idell Bolden; sons, Lewis Pinnix and Victor Bolden; brothers, John, Nathaniel and Esko; sister, Doris Boyle. He graduated with advanced studies in Electrical Engineering, he received a Bachelor of Science degree. He served faithfully by visiting other countries and places telling many about God, he will be truly missed. He leaves to cherish his precious memories with his faithful wife, Merle Bolden; son, Chamal L. Bolden; stepdaughter, Rhonda Bradford; sister, Frankie Mae Askew; granddaughter, Keisha Pinnix; grandson, Darryl Pinnix; great-grandson, Quay Pinnix; nieces, Joyce Doyle,Taunya Doyle and Geneva Sharp; nephew, Don Doyle; 6 great-grandchildren, (Bradford);sister-in-law, Ollie Stenelofton; brother-in-law, pastor Cecil Bradford; a host of other relatives and friends. The visitation will be held Thursday, January 9th, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Friday for the service.
