A Homegoing celebration for Mr. Charles Edward Brooks, Jr. of Tampa, Florida who passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2019 will be held on Friday, June 7th, 11:00 a.m. at College Hill Mennonite Church, 3506 Machado Street, Rev. Roy Williams, officiating. The interment will be in Garden of Memories. Charles was born on October 17, 1944 in Sanford, Florida to the late Charlie E. Brooks and Martha Wilson. He enjoyed building cars, fishing, drag racing, football, boxing and was an avid Buccaneers fans since the 1970's. he was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Martha Brooks; son, Micheal; brother, Felton and Tony and sister, Irene. He leaves to cherish his loving memories with his loving wife, Cynthia Brooks; children, Charles Brooks III (Kim), Tonja Brooks, Shannon Brooks (Amber) and Chauncey Brooks; step-children, Sislestina Thomas, Jerry Thomas, Theresa Thomas, Lisa Kirkland, Kareem Brooks, Andrea (Melvin), Cashaun Brooks, Michelle Brooks, Kelina (Seth), Jeremy Brooks and Christie Hurst Crompton (Michelle); 28 grandchildren; great grandchild, Arielle Shaunae Brooks; brothers, Harold, Micheal, Donald, Tony, Joseph, Gregory and Gerald; sisters, Irene, Gloria Jean (Alphonso), Katherine, Linda, Mary, Debra, Sandra (Andre) and Jackie (Charlton); and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Thursday, June 6th from 5 to 7 p.m. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
