Mr. Charles Gibson was born on July 12, 1954, in Tampa, Florida, to Charles Gibson and Dorothy Alexander "Kitty". He attended school in Hillsborough County. He dedicated over 53 years of his life to his career as a longshoreman and was a proud member of ILA Local 1402. In his spare time, Charles enjoyed mechanical work, flying his remote-controlled helicopter, and sharing his knowledge with others. His passion, dedication, and generosity left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Gibson and Dorothy Alexander "Kitty"; and brothers, Charment Buard "Gizzy", Gerald Gibson "Speedy", and Dewayne T. Gibson "Nag".

He leaves cherished memories to his spouse, Carolyn Banks "Ms. C"; children, son, Kevin Gibson (Latonya) and stepdaughter, Zayre Smith; grandchildren; Kevin Gibson, Jr., and Ja'Ziyah Gibson; brothers, Gregory Gibson, Mark Gibson, Perry Austin "Keith", and Polete Buard IV (Kathy); sisters, Gail Vance, Charolette Brooks- Gibson, Linda, Daniels "Tammy", Paulette Gibson (sister-in-law); nieces, Nicole Gibson, Chimere Gibson, Cherry Gibson, Dana Gibson, Jeria Gibson, Bascia Protor, Brooke Johnson, and RaiLynda Jenkins; nephews, Aron Gibson, Michael Reed, and Ruben Jenkins II, along with a host of other family, and friends.
