Charles ONeal Sargent was born on May 14, 1952, in Georgetown, South Carolina to the late Joshua Sargent, Sr., and Sarah Washington Sargent. He liked to tinker. If it was broken, he always wanted to fix it. You could depend on him to be ready and willing to work on a car, or lawnmower, or install a window or door for the sheer joy of doing something with his hands. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joshua Sargent, Sr., and Sarah Washington Sargent; three brothers, Joshua Sargent, Jr., Willie James Sargent, and Glennie Steven Sargent.
He leaves to cherish his loving wife, Claudia Sargent; children; Kamala Sargent of (Pinellas Park, Florida); Charles ONeal Sargent, Jr. (Maria) of Pinellas Park, Florida; Christina Sargent McCarty (Joshua) of New Jersey; and Charlena Sargent (Linford) of Coco Beach, Florida. Stepchildren, Valencia Curling, Kirk Beaumont, Athleen Hightower (Michael Hightower), Conroy and (Ann-Marie Whitely), Charlene Whitely (Derick Hightower). Marquise Sargent; and Amar' McCarty,step-grandchildren, Joseph, Andrew, Aja Wilson, Kirk Beaumont, Jr., Jasmine and Jamar Andrade, Conroy Jr, Jonathan, Jeremy and JoAnna Whitely, Stephan, Ra Vaughn, and Aniya Falcon; two sisters, Belinda Green (Robert) and Freda Sargent Perlman (Bill) of Port St. Lucie, Florida, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and devoted, friends Kenneth Hazel and Rev. Douglas Smith.
