A homegoing celebration for Brother Charlie A. Mitchell of Tampa, Florida who transitioned to his heavenly home on Saturday, September 24, 2016 will be held Saturday, October 1st, 2:00 p.m. at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., Rev. Don Roberts, pastor of Bethel M.B. Church, Plant City, Florida officiating. The interment will follow. Charlie attended Leon High School in Tallahassee, Florida where he lived there for 26 years before moving to Tampa. He was employed by Home Depot and enjoyed working with his colleagues and was always in good spirits. Charlie was a devoted son, brother, uncle and friend to many people. Charlie's most important and lasting gift to the world is his daughter, his pride and joy. He leaves to cherish is precious memories with his daughter, Zekia Shade Johnson; mother, Bettye Mitchell; father, Abraham Robinson; brother, Donald Mitchell; sister, Charity Mitchell and twin-sisters, Takelia and Tashelia Mitchell; grandmother, Lillie Hill; aunts, Melanie Grandville, Mary Williams, Doretha Maddox, Martha Hill, Shirley Brown and Gloria Andrews; special aunts, Beverly Gainous and Starlene Sirmons; niece, Zakiaya Wiggins; nephews, Devonair Harley, Xavier Mitchell, Jamaul Glover, Tristyn Glover and Joe Felix Jones III; first cousins, Daja Brown and Eleana Hutcherson; god-mother, Felicia Brown; and a host of other loving family members, godchildren and very supportive friends. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, September 30th from 5:00-8:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 5:00-6:00 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel on Saturday for the service.
