Christy Latreese
Carr Randle
January 12, 1977 – November 10, 2024
Christy Latreese Carr-Randle, a woman whose laughter was as infectious as her spirit was indomitable, danced her way into the heavens on November 10, 2024. Christy was born in Peoria, Illinois, on January 12, 1977, Christy's journey through life was one of vibrant joy and boundless energy, a path that led her to her final standing ovation in Tampa, Florida.
Christy's life was a masterclass in balancing the serious with the spectacular. For over 14 years, she donned her superhero cape as a cancer pharmacy tech, dispensing not just medication but doses of hope and cheer to those in need. Her dedication to her work was only rivaled by her love for education, having earned her pharmacy tech degree with the same zeal she applied to every aspect of her life. When she wasn't busy being a healthcare hero, Christy was the life of every party.
She and her beloved husband, Andre Randle, were the dynamic duo of date nights, best friends and the real deal Bonnie and Clyde. Together, they crafted a life filled with laughter, love, and the occasional well-planned soiree that would make the Great Gatsby look like a casual get-together.
Christy's role as a mother to Rickisha and Chris Carr was akin to that of a seasoned conductor leading an orchestra of organized chaos, with every day bringing a new adventure. She poured her creative and loving soul into every moment, teaching her children that life was a dance floor waiting for them to make their moves.
Her grandkids, Deja, Jade, and Nkosi, knew her as the grandmother who could out-party any teenager and would much rather craft a memory than sit still. They were the beat to her music, the glitter in her craft, and the reason she could likely be found planning a party that was less 'pin the tail on the donkey' and more 'pin the fun on every moment.' Christy's parents, Ricky Jackie Hanson and Dorothy Carr, along with her siblings Pearis, Joy, Amber, Rickey, Wendell, Rodregas, and Brandon, formed the ensemble cast of her personal sitcom. There was never a dull moment in the Carr-Randle-Hanson production, with Christy often at the helm, directing the family shenanigans with the expertise of a seasoned showrunner.
Her interests were as eclectic as her wardrobe on '70s disco night. From crafting to traveling, Christy embraced each with the passion of a woman who knew life was for living. She danced through life's ups and downs, partied through the challenges, and crafted her way through any setback, always with a smile that could light up a room. To say Christy was friendly, creative, and loving is like saying the sky is big, the ocean is deep, and chocolate is tasty – a massive understatement.
She was the friend who knew no stranger, the creator of countless memories, and the embodiment of love in every hug, every crafted gift, every party planned with meticulous love. Christy Latreese Carr-Randle's final curtain call may have come, but her show will go on in the hearts and laughter of all who knew her. She left behind a legacy of joy, a blueprint for living life to the fullest, and a dance card filled with memories.
So, let's not say goodbye, but rather, 'See you later,' because a spirit like Christy's never really leaves; it just takes a break to plan the next big bash in the sky.
