Homegoing services for Mr. Clarence Copeland III of Tampa who passed away, Monday December 10, 2012, will be held Saturday, December 22nd, 11:00 a.m. at 34th Street Church of God, 3000 N 34th Street, Rev. Dr. Thomas Scott, pastor with Rev. Lloyd Black, officiating. Interment will be in Orange Hill Cemetery. Clarence was born July 19, 1945 in Tampa, FL to the late Clarence Copeland, Jr and Daisy Holder. He was a member of 34th street church of God and was a driver for various truck companies. Clarence was a well known motorcycle rider and loved his family. He was preceded in death by lifelong companion, Mattie Griffin, sons, Clarence Copeland IV and Ray P. Peterson. He leaves to cherish fond and loving memories with wife, Dorothy L. Copeland; children John F. Copeland, Antonio Copeland, Sr., Lloyd Copeland, Sr., Gino Copeland, Calvin Shaw, Leroy Peterson, Erangela Copeland, Bridgette Copeland, Martha Copeland, Joyce Peterson, Kimberly Peterson (Shad) and Angela Shaw46 grandchildren; 40 or more great grandchildren; mother, Daisy Lee Horton; brothers, Ozzie Horton (Cheryl) of Ocala, FL; sisters, Shirley Black (Lloyd), Geneva Copleland, Cora Copeland, Leola Green (John), Erma Wiggins, Shirley Copeland, Linda Copeland, Patricia Copeland and Cheryl Copeland of St. Pete; goddaughters, Tawanda Baker, Sherita Lorette, Meosha Henderson, Jackie Doctor, Deborah Finley, Karen Sipp, Keshona Brown and Carlette Pringle; and a host of sorrowing nephews, nieces and friends. The viewing will be held Friday, December 21st at Aikens Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
