Mrs. Claudette Roneida Akins was born June 18, 1951, in Tampa, Florida, to parents, Ashley Walker and Susie Young Walker. Claudette was kind, loving and giving. She attended Middleton High School, and she furthered her education at Tampa Business College, where she honed her administrative and organizational skills before employment with the 1207 Labor Union.

Claudette loved family and as the only female in her household, she doted on her beloved husband and sons. Mrs. Akins loved the Lord and served her church with participation in the gospel choir, Beautification Committee, Junior & Senior Mission, Baptist Training Union, and serving as a Deaconess.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Susie Young Walker and father, Ashley Walker; brothers, Clifford James Hills, Sr. and Eddie Lee Hills; sisters, Ethel Quattlebaum and Carolyn Hill; and niece, Helena Brown.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories: beloved husband, Art Akins; sons, Alan and Jeremy Akins; sister, Helen Brown (Willie); sisters- in-law, Brenda Akins, Connie Akins, Gail Akins, Ionie Searcy, and Wyomie Dixon; nephews, Willie Brown, Xavier Dixon, Brian Lindsey, Chris Akins and Brad Simmons; grandnephews, Clifford and Cory Hills; special nieces, Annette and Darlene Williams; nieces, Sybil Dixon, Shalon Dixon, Michelle Lindsey, Cheryl Nichole Reddick, and Audrey Mcghee; grandnieces, Valerie Bethel (Cory), Carolyn Hills, Cynthia Hills and Kenethia Hills.
