Homegoing services for Mrs. Colleen A. McDonald, 86, who passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2011, will be held on Tuesday, March 15, 2011, at 1 p.m. at Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery, Tampa, Rev. Neely officiating. Mrs. Colleen A. McDonald was born on October 7, 1925, in Tampa, Florida, to the parents of Equiller and Odessa (Barnes) Garvin who preceded her in death. She was a former member of Greater New Salem Primitive Baptist Church. She was a licensed practical nurse at Good Samaritan Hospital where she retired. She was also a retired security officer for the State of Florida. She was preceded in death by her sister, Alberta Jones; uncle and aunt, David & Maggie Singleton, and aunt, Nancy Washington. She leaves to cherish her memories her son, Bernard Watson of Tampa, FL; grandchildren, Kim Gant of Raleigh, NC, and Bridgette Parrish (Bruce) of Tampa; great grandchild, Abriane J'Nai Parrish; cousins, Beulah M. Brown, Tampa, Lemuel Myrick & Family, New York, NY and Betty Jean Harrell, Ft. Meade, FL; friends, Maomi Jones, Elizabeth Green, Leroy & Pat Mitchell; Albert Hart, Barbara Baker, Deacon & Mrs. Hester, Michael Simmons and the neighbors on 23rd Street. The viewing will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Monday, March 15th, from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at 12:45 p.m. for the service on Tuesday.
