Collier was born on April 21, 1943, in Gainesville, FL., to Willie Mae Childs. Collier was very kind, and always willing to help anyone in need. He passed away peacefully at the age of 79, surrounded by family. He attended the public schools of Alachua County before relocating to Tampa, FL.

He worked in transportation for over 30 years. His last place of employment was with Suncoast Roofing Supply, until he retired in 2009. He enjoyed helping others and was always cracking a joke. He loved just being around people and he was a joy to be around. He opened his heart and home to many people. He will be sadly missed by all family, friends, and most of all his beloved children and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by mother, Willie Mae Childs; brother, Rickey Childs; and sister, Ethel McKenzie. He leaves precious memories with his sons, Collier Childs, Jr., Anthony Pride (Tara), and Arthur Pride; daughters, Valeria Davis (Willie), Sonia Jones (Claude), and Jasmine Wilson; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, other family members, and friends.
