A homegoing celebration for Mrs. Connie Lavern Lane of Tampa, Florida, who passed away on April 1, 2018, will be held Saturday, April 7th, 10:00 a.m. at Greater Friendship M.B. Church, 3225 E. Emma Street Tampa, Florida, Pastor Ronnie Murray, officiating and Pastor Isaac Lane, eulogist. The interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Connie Lane was born on October 25, 1946 in Lakeland, Georgia, to the late, Enoch Miller, Sr. and Allene (Robinson) Miller. She was a member of Greater Friendship M.B. Church and worked there as a willing worker. She was a retired dietary cook for 17 years at Humana Women's Hospital. She was married to her husband Ernest Lane for 53 years. She had a love for children, traveling, cooking and entertaining. She was a proud military spouse stationed in Phoenix, Arizona and Stuttgart, Germany. She was preceded in death by her parents; step-mother, Ethel Mae Miller; sons, Eric Lane and Steven Lane; brothers, Enoch Miller, Jr., James Miller, and Hardy Miller; sisters, Shirley Foster and Jeanette Wilder, and brothers-in-law, Willie Frank Foster and Pastor Theodis Lane; sisters-in-law, Georgia Miller and Ava Nell Miller. She leaves to cherish her precious memories, her husband, Ernest Lane; devoted daughter, Allene Lane; brothers, Lawrence Miller (Karen), Larry Miller (Carolyn) and Randy Miller (Shannala); sisters, Donna Lingo (James), Barbra Rowel, Wanda Lane, Joyce Golden (Willie) and Adrienne Alderman (Ricky); aunts, Pauline Cook, Leonys Owens, and Lucille Gardener; goddaughters, Twila Williams, Shemeka McCary, Keivia Molphus, and Octavia Parker; godson, Caleb Youngblood; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and family friends. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, April 6th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
