Obituary

And it came to pass in the year of our Lord, 1937, on June 4, 1937, in Tampa, FL, a darling baby girl was born to the late Wilson "Buddy" Richardson and Irene B. McCall and they named her, Constance Deloris Richardson. Constance grew up in a Christian home and was converted at an early age at Mt. Moriah P. B. Church, Tampa, FL. She later joined St. Matthew Missionary Baptist Church and was a faithful member for more than 45 years; she was a Deaconess, Founder of the "Black History" Celebration, member of the Senior Mission Society, Sunday School Teacher, Nurses Guild, Progressive Usher Board, Benevolence Board and many other church ministries. Constance was loved and respected by all who knew her, and many children whose lives she fondly touched throughout her career. She acquired many friends who were saddened by her demise, which came quietly in the early morning of Thursday, April 22, 2010, at the age of 72. Constance attended the public schools of Hillsborough County and graduated from Don Thompson Vocational High School and later graduated from Hillsborough Community College with an Associate of Arts Degree; The University of South Florida, majoring in Elementary Education and Post Graduate Studies. Constance was a devoted and well respected Instructor for Hillsborough County Schools and retired after 32 years of dedicated service and touching many children who have become productive members of our global communities. She was a lifetime member of Zeta, Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, NAACP and the Parent Teachers Association of Hillsborough County Schools. Preceded in death by her mother, Irene B. McCall; father, Wilson "Buddy" Richardson, Stepfather, Roosevelt McCall, Beatrice and Hezekiah Leff, Irene B. Ellis and Theron Morris. She was the devoted mother of 5 children of Tampa, FL; daughters, Brenda O. Martin and husband, Rev. George Martin, Irene L. Oliver; son, Tony M. Oliver and daughters, Triniece Oliver-Judge and Constance Oliver-Washington and a foster son, Clyde E. Nedd, Sr. Proud grandmother of 14 grandchildren; Sharone and husband, Isaac, Sherrlyn, Lydia, Tracy, Caralecia, Toni, Sabrina, Taneshia, Jabari, Jelani, Davale, Jamaal and wife Tangela, Monique and Clyde Nedd, Jr., of Tampa, FL; proud great-grandmother of 18 great-grandchildren of Tampa, FL; admired and loving 7 sisters; Margaret A. Threadcraft of Denver, CO, Phyllis R. Walker of St. Petersburg, FL, Cynthia-Marie McCoy of Salt Lake City, UT, Carolyn D. Barnard and husband, Denfield Barnard, Sr., of Hillside, NJ, Dorothy James of Lakeland, FL, Barbara Coley of Alexandria, VA and Betty Jean and husband David Ray of Scotch Plains, NJ; 3 Loving brothers, Rev. Bernard Morris and wife, Gracie of Altamonte Springs, FL, Herman Morris and wife, Doreatha of Tampa, FL and Nathaniel Brown; Godmothers, Bernell Brown and Comina Hills; a special cousin, Geraldine Green and a host of other sorrowing family and friends.
