A homegoing celebration for Mr. Corey Antoine Mention 'Boo' of Tampa, FL. who passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2016 will be held Saturday, August 6th, 2:00 p.m. at St. John Progressive M.B. Church, 2504 Chipco St., Reverend Dr. Bartholomew Banks, Sr., pastor, officiating. The interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Corey attended King High School where he played varsity football. He graduated from Gary Adult High School c/o '02. He loved fishing, listening to music, making everyone smile, and was a devoted Miami Dolphins fan. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Willie and Elizabeth Winkfield and aunt, Tina Mention. He leaves to cherish his precious memories with his parents, Thomas Mention Jr., and Lutanya Garrett; brothers, Jaime Garrett (Jennifer), Louis Cofield (Lakisha), Jonta (Darlene), Robert, JaQuan, Antino (Yazmin), Kentwon, Chris (Sequoia), D.D. Coleman, Anthony, Thomas and Jordan; sisters, Jolisa, Dontria, Jasmine, Kierra, Sierra, Stephanie, Leslie and Jade Mention; aunts, Fatangela Johnson, Sharon Byrd, Jenell, Nikki, Gina, Shawn and Sharon Henson; uncles, Terrance Garrett, Michael Sr., Andre, Charlie Jr. Charlie Jones, Kelvin, Tony, Thomas and Bryan; niece, Malania Garrett; nephew, Kumari Garrett; cousins; Marquis, Michael, Michelle (Cortez), Mikeisha, Mikayla, Jherrica, Cory, Rayfield, Silvio, Jessica and Jaquisha; a host of other relatives and friends. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, August 5th from 5-8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
