Young
May 16, 1947 – November 18, 2025
Mrs. Corine Young was born on May 16, 1947, in Lilly, Georgia, to the late Murray Young Sr. and Essie Mae Lester-Young. Corine came to know and accept Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior. She was a member of Deliverance of The Church of God. Corine completed her early education at Byromville Elementary School in Georgia and pursued her secondary education in Florida, graduating from Middleton High School.
Upon finishing high school, she enrolled in Job Corps training in St. Louis, Missouri, where she studied nursing. After completing her training and achieving high honors on the state licensing board, she realized her lifelong dream of becoming a nurse was in her reach as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). She dedicated 45 years to this passion and love of nursing, working in various roles at two hospitals: St Louis Memorial and
Memorial Hospital of Tampa, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Murray Young, Sr., and Essie Young; siblings include Willie Young, Joe Young, Murray Young Jr., Marvin Young and her sister, Mary Young Lango. Corine leaves to cherish her memories, including her two sisters, Clydie Grier and Mable Young. She also had three beloved cats, Mr. Yellow, Coco, and Mama, whom she affectionately referred to as her
babies. Additionally, she was supported by two dedicated caregivers, Lois Couzens (Jerry) and Dennis Grier (Kelly). Furthermore, three neighbors provided her with steadfast love and care, Antoinette Washington, Ivan Robaina, Noraida, and an endless count of nieces and nephews.
