Homegoing services for Mr. Cullen Davis, Sr., of 5827 58th Street Court, who passed away on Wednesday, January 5, 2011, at 6:19 p.m., will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. at Oak Hill M.B. Church, 4202 E. Palifox, Rev. Dr. Victor Ball, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Cullen Davis, Sr. was born in Hartford (Cottonwood) Alabama to the late mother, Gussie Bryant and father, Booker T. Davis on November 20, 1929. He was a member of Oak Hill M.B. Church where he accepted Jesus Christ as a young man and continued until his demise under the leadership of Pastor, Victor W. Ball. He was preceded in death by his mother, the late Mother Gussie Bryant, father and his stepfather, Jasper Bryant; 3 sons, Herbert Davis, Jackie Davis, Cullen Davis, Jr., 1 daughter, Bettye Young, 1 sister, Inez Ingram, 1 brother, Clarence Davis, Sr. He leaves to cherish his memory 4 daughters, Rae Jean Mercer and husband, Frankie, Barbara J. Davis, Anita M. Davis, Antoinette Davis, and son, Ronald E. Davis; 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 3 sisters, Elouise Glover, Rocelia Holmes, Jeanette Balkman and husband, Robert; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He was a very good man and loved in the community. The viewing will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, January 14, 2011 from 5-8 p.m. Family and friends are asked to meet at the church at 1:45 p.m. for the service on Saturday.
