Homegoing services for Mrs. Curlie Lee Holley of Tampa who passed away on Friday, December 9, 2011, will be held on Saturday, December 17th, 11:00 a.m. at New Mt. Zion M.B. Church, 2511 E. Columbus Dr., Rev. Walter Williams, pastor officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Curlie Lee Holley was born on June 6, 1927 in Fort Gaines, Georgia. She was the second of ten children born to Raymond and Candice Jackson. She attended school in Ft. Gaines and Edison, Georgia, where she met and married her beloved Mack Arthur Holley. To this union five children were born. Upon moving to Tampa, Florida, they joined New Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church. Curlie was a faithful member for over 50 years serving on the choir, usher board #1, and Sunday school teacher. She was a senior companion for Hillsborough County. She also taught school in Edison, Georgia and was employed by Edward's Pipe and Tobacco Shop in Tampa, and with Hillsborough County Schools at Oak Park Elementary and Middleton High School. Early Friday morning, Mrs. Holley went to meet, waiting for her glory, her husband, Mack Arthur Holley; son, Mack Holley; parents, Raymond and Candice Jackson; 2 sisters, Dellaphine Thomas and Bernice Jackson and 3 brothers, Leo Jackson, Charles Jackson and Eddie Roy Jackson. She leaves to cherish her memories; children, Irma Williams (Ernest) Valrico, FL, Arthur Holley (Brenda) Tampa, FL, James Holley and Raliegh Holley of Tampa, FL; 2 grandsons, Lupatrick Williams (Tanya) and Xavier Holley; 7 granddaughters, Atalaya Holley, Bridgette Canty (Jermaine), Demetria Holley, Ashley Mackey (Karmi), Amberly Holley, Dasia Holley and Alexis Holley; 13 great grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild; sisters, Catherine Powers, Snellville, GA, Louise Holley, Ft. Gaines, GA, Merlene Leaphart (Lawerence), Waycross, GA, Merlyn Armstrong (Raymond), Southfield, Michigan; brother, Ray Jackson (Venecia), Tampa, FL; sisters-in-law, Willie Mae Jackson and Artie Jackson; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. The viewing will be held at New Mt. Zion M.B. Church on Friday from 5-8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 5:30 -6:30 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church for the service.
