Obituary

Homegoing celebration for Mr. Curtis Clarence Anderson of Tampa who passed away Thursday, July 10, 2014 will be held Saturday July 19th, 2:00 p.m. Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, 2708 E. Dr. MLK Jr. Blvd, Rev. Philip Jenkins, officiating. Curtis "Pops" Anderson was a very loving and caring man. To him no one was a stranger. Curtis loved spending time with his family and friends. He loved life and lived it to the fullest. Curtis was a lifelong resident of Tampa, Florida attending public schools of Hillsborough County. He attended Middleton High School where he participated as a Drum Major. He was a faithful employee at Craft Equipment of Brandon, FL for over 30 years. He was preceded in death by wife, Jennel Anderson; father, Clarence Anderson; mother, Annie Anderson; and stepdaughters; Sheila Montgomery and Valerie McQuay. Curtis leaves to mourn 4 children, Valerie Anderson, Althea Clarke, Curtis Anderson and adopted son Jack "J.J." Montgomery; stepchildren, Abdul, Todd (Twila), Adell (Toya), Almetta and Deborah (Tommy); loving companion, Joann Atkins and family; grandchildren, Shauntel (Ronnie), Toshiba, Reca, Keala, Kim (Stephan), Tracy (Joshua), Jennell, Chloe, Quita, Eric (Becky), Gerald (Latonya), Richie (Jossye), Donald (Jennifer), Dermaine (Doris), Demille, Terreno, Todd, Christopher, Kenrick (Afrika), William, Adell, Jr., Tony, Terrance (Jasmine), Tonio,Jerron, Tyneisha,Andre, Shayneat, Tyree and Steve; sisters, Charlene Anderson and Patricia Taylor; sisters-in-law, Claire Pearl Wilson and Mammie Walker; aunt, Linda Joyce McCray; niece, Vanessa Nelson (Erick); nephews, Vincent, Terrence and Andre; godson, Otha Lee Thorne and family; longtime and special friends, Mr. Craft and the Craft family, Cephus "Shorty" Wren and Liz;Curtis Also leaves to mourn a host of other family and friends. Even though there are far greater people that loved Curtis than listed, unfortunately we couldn't list you all. Please know that the family does acknowledge, appreciate and love you all. We thank you in advance for making Curtis Clarence Andersons life complete. God bless you all. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday July 18th from 5 to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel on Saturday for the service.
