Homegoing services for Mr. Dale Tyrone Mathews, Sr. of 1107 Chilkoot Ave.,who passed away on, Sunday, February 8, 2009, will be held on Saturday, February 14th, 2:00 p.m. at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Donald Yeoman, officiating. Interment will be in Orange Hill Cemetery. Dale Tyrone Mathews, Sr. was born in Tampa, Florida and was educated in the public schools of Hillsborough County. He was a graduate of Chamberlin High School. Before his early departure he was employed by Simostone Company. He was preceded in death by his mother, Juanita Mathews and son, Dale T. Mathews, Jr. He leaves to cherish his memories, a loving and devoted wife, Tonye Brown Mathews, daughter, Dominque Shanell Mathews; granddaughter, Lailah Monique Sam of Lafayette, LA; step-daughters, Deborah Hawthorne (Quincy) and Brittney Black; step-son, Isiah Thompson and family; father, George Mathews; step-mother, Joann Mathews; godmother, Sadie Bryant of Tampa; brothers, Glenn Mathews of Coleman, FL, Clarence Mathews, Polk City, FL, Dwight Mathews, Daytona Beach, FL, Corey Mathews (Michelle) and Michael Mathews of Tampa, FL; brothers-in-law, Leonard Brown, Tampa and Henry Crawford, Anderson, SC; sisters, Cynthia Lanell Coleman, Nicole Mathews and Timiki Mathews Jacobs (Kevin), all of Tampa; mother-in-law, Elizabeth Brown of Tampa; sisters-in-law, Johnnie Hill (John), Karen White, Cynthia Chin, Sharon Brown, all of Tampa, FL, Catherine and Mamie Crawford of Anderson, SC; aunts, Carolyn Taylor of Syracuse, MO, Margarite Scott of Las Vegas, NV and Edna White of Montgomery, AL; uncles, Roosevelt Jackson of Chicago, IL, Taylor Evans of Estill, SC and Clarence Stewart of Montgomery, AL; nieces, Ebony Manners (David) and Adrianna Coleman of Tampa, FL and Candice Burney of Columbia, MO; nephews, Joris Cross of Tampa, FL and Tremayne Burney of Columbia, MO; cousins, Tracey White, Jennie Dandridge and Jessie Taylor; a host of loving friends, Ivory and Jeanette Solomon, Pamela Bryant, Yolanda Durassaint, Yvonne Reddick and family, Louella Roseboro and family, Joann Thomas, Veronica Banks, Amanda Albury, Dudley Bryant, Jr., Bobby and Barbara Richardson; and a very special thank you to Charlene Hall and Teresa Sistrunk. The remains will repose at Aikens Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday. Family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel on Saturday at 1:45 p.m. for the service.
