Homegoing services for Mr. Dannie Craig Major of Tampa, who passed away Monday, June 20, 2011 will be held on Saturday, June 25th, 1:00 p.m. at St. John Progressive M.B. Church, 2504 Chipco Avenue, with Rev. Bartholomew Pastor, officiating. Mr. Dannie Major was born on October 29, 1957 in Tampa, Florida. He attended the schools of Hillsborough County. Dannie was a member of St. John Progressive M.B. Church. He enjoyed playing golf. He was preceded in death by his parents, Michelle Jean Major and William E. Thompson; grandmother, Catherine Stockton Major and grandfather, Mckinley Major. He leaves to cherish his memories; children, Cory Miller, Adonnis Lovett, Marcus Polite, Dannie Craig Major II, Danielle Major and Antoinette Robinson; grandchildren, Anronesh Lovett and Adonnus Lovett; brother, Brian Keith Major, god-brothers, Edward Kearney, James Herrell and Craig Gooden; sisters, My Harrison and Karon A. Major; aunts, Hazel Gooden, Joann Thompson and Audrey Thompson; grandaunts, Daisy Williams and husband, James, Clara Crumpton and husband, Frances and Vivian Owens; uncles, Nathaniel Thompson, Jay V. Thompson, Sr., David Thompson and Curtis Thompson; grand uncles, Phillip Stockton, Alfonso Stockton and Samuel Stockton and wife Gale; nieces, Nitika Randolph and Aaron, Ronnie Pinder and Husband Aaron, Angie Mayhew, Nija Major and Kayla Major; extended family; Maurice Jackson, Herman Wilbone, Beverly Grishem, Portia, Fannie Keith and Sam Roberts; and a host of other relatives and friends. The viewing will be held on Friday, June 24th, from 5-8 p.m. at Aikens Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church at 12:45 on Saturday for the service.
