The service celebrating the life of Mr. Darius Winston Ebanks of Tampa, Florida will be held Saturday, February 18, 2012, 11am at Aikens Funeral Home, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, a local minister will officiate. Interment will be in Sunset Memory Gardens Cemetery. Darius was born on April 21, 1977 in Georgetown, Grand Cayman. Darius was the proud father and single parent of two (2) wonderful kids (DJ and Jaylin) and when not spending quality time with them, he enjoyed watching movies, sharing a fun moment with friends and simply learning about "any and everything". Darius passed away on Sunday, February12, 2012 after a valiant battle with cancer. True character is displayed when tested by life's many unplanned challenges, and throughout his illness, Darius gave it his all. Rarely without a smile on his face, if love could have kept Darius with us, then he would still be here; only God loved him more. He is preceded in death by his father, Hanklin Ebanks. He leaves to cherish his memories: his children Darius Ebanks, Jr. and Jaylin Ebanks; his parents, Marcia Byron Hair and Claude Hair; his sister, Erica Hill (Shannon); his brother; Carey Byron (Persephanie) and half-brother, Hanklin Ebanks, Jr.; grandparents, Henry and Elouise Byron and Roselyn Ebanks (Georgetown, Grand Cayman); aunts, Sallye Byron Davis (Atlanta, GA), Pat Byron, Marlene Byron Marshall, Barbara Morrison (Pembroke Pines, FL), Rosemay Ebanks (Grand Cayman), Starrose Ebanks (Grand Cayman), Ruby Thomas and Dr. Lorene Brown (Atlanta, GA); nieces, Deionna Washignton and Niah Byron; nephews, Marcell Byron, Matthew McCall, Dominic Ebanks, Elijah Hill and Mike Butts; cousins, Precely Davis III, Henry Davis, Tiffany Davis, Patrick Pennington, Belaye Pennington, Marcus Fuller, Yana Morrison, Kevin Morrison, Cedric Gilchrist, Limart Gilchrist, Dennard Thomas, Carla Thomas, Dr. Gay Byron; special friends, Sara Johnson and Brian Sims and a host of other friends and relatives. The viewing will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, February 17, 2012, from 5 to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel on Saturday.
