Homegoing services for Mr. Daron Cecil Avery of 3104 E. Chelsea Street, who passed away Friday, June 12, 2009, will be held Saturday, June 20th, 2:00 p.m., Beulah Baptist Institutional Church, 1006 W. Cypress, Rev. Dr. W. James Favorite, pastor with Elder John Jerelds, pastor of Reborn Christian Fellowship Center, eulogist. The interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. The death angel stopped by early on June 12, 2009 and called one of his beautiful, kind and willing workers home to eternal rest. Daron came into this life on December 28, 1955 to the union of James and Loretta Avery. He was gladly welcomed by his four other brothers and sisters. Daron attended the schools of Hillsborough County and graduated from Chamberlain High School. He joined the United States Navy and was honorably discharged after service to his country. Daron then attended Hillsborough Community College. He started working at the James A. Haley Veterans Hospital and worked there for over 30 years until his demise. He met and married Beverly Mallard on September 17, 1983. He and Beverly had just celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary this past year. To this union they were blessed with a beautiful daughter, Dominique "Nene", who they dedicated their lives to. Daron was always known for his openness and willingness to help others. Daron was a faithful, devoted and loving husband. He exemplified God's example of the head of household in making sure his family was well taken care of in all that he could provide. He was a brother, uncle, friend, caregiver and supporter to all he met. Daron was preceded in death by father, James C. Avery, mother, Loretta Avery Stanley, brothers, John Henry and Gregory Avery and godfather, Rufus Lyons. Shortly after his passing his beloved wife, Beverly joined him in eternal rest. His memory will be forever cherished by his loving and devoted daughter, Dominique Carletta "NeNe" Avery; sisters, Joyce Avery Mitchell and Veatrice Avery Brown; brother, Lenoris Avery; aunts, Annie Will Jones, Dorothy Hadley, Willetha Mays, and Rosa Artis; great aunt, Ruby Humphrey; brothers-in-law, Nathaniel Reed and Joe Louis Southers; sisters-in-law, Yvonne Avery, Sylvia Avery and Dorothy Southers; nieces, Andrea Guerrier, Helen Avery Bass, Ebony Mitchell, Alicia Ali, Tamara Brown, Ashley McKnight, Nayla Cooper and Joanna Southers, Jacksonville, Florida; nephews, Leonoris "Greg" Fleming, Jackson, NC, John Avery, III, James Avery, Terry Avery, Nolan Avery, Andre Harrell and Fabian McKnight. He will also missed by his church family at Reborn Christian Fellowship Center and colleagues of over 30 years at the James A. Haley Veterans Hospital and a host of other sorrowing relatives and friends. The remains will repose at Aikens Funeral Home Friday, June 19th, from 5 to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church at 1:45 p.m. Saturday for the service.
