Homegoing services for Mr. Darrell A. Brown of Tampa who passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2011, will be held on Saturday August 6th, 11:00 a.m. at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Blvd. with, Pastor Antonio R. Hawkins, officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Darrell was born on July 12, 1943 in Jamaica, St. Thomas Parrish where he grew up and went to school until moving to Tampa, Florida in the early 70's and resided until he was called home on July 31, 2011. Mr. Brown lived in Tampa for more than 35 years, with his wife of 25 years the late Mrs. Elouise Brown. He was an employee of the city of Tampa for more than 30 years until he retired in 2010. He was a resident of Progress Village since 1979. He will be greatly missed by his children: daughters; Yolanda Matthews, Lorraine Brown, and Wanda Jackson; sons, Calvin, Lawrence, Kenneth, Arthar, Gerald, Darrell and Grier; grandchildren, Shivanne Morgan, Shaniek Morgan, Demarcus Morgan, Erica, Edwin, Mioshi Waymon, Darrell Jr., Leeadral, Quinton, Eric, Cambriella and D'Marion Howard; sisters, Gloria ( Dennis) and Rebecca (Vincent); nephews; Howard Bailey (Joan), Courtney Hamilton (Patricia), Patrick Hamilton (Haldith), Garnette Bowley (Katarina), Carlton Dawkins (Marva), Stewart Burnett and Alfred; nieces, Novene Powell (Wardell), Doreen, Charmaine, Raquel, Claudia, Janice, Debbie, Wendy Brown, and Karlene McLaren. The viewing will be held at Aikens Funeral home on Friday from 5-8 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the Chapel at 10:45 a.m. on Saturday for the service.
