Darrell Franklin, affectionately known as “D,” was born on August 7, 1962, in New Orleans, Louisiana. Throughout his life, Darrell was known for his loving heart, wonderful sense of humor, and thoughtful nature. Darrell was a hardworking man who was last employed with Disney. Beyond his work, he found great joy in the simple things that brought people together. He especially enjoyed cooking and sharing his meals with family and friends. For Darrell, cooking was more than preparing food; it was one of the many ways he expressed his love and care for others. Helping others came naturally to “D.” Whether lending a hand, sharing a laugh, preparing a meal, or simply being there when someone needed him, he had a genuine desire to make life a little brighter for those around him. His humor could bring smiles to any room, while his thoughtful and compassionate spirit made others feel valued and cared for.

He was preceded in death by his parents Harry and Gloria Franklin.

He leaves cherished memories to his son, Tevin Franklin; daughters, Tegra Franklin and London Monday; grandchildren, Auden Azari Franklin and Khaliani Reanna Franklin; brothers, Terrence Franklin and Kenneth Franklin; sister, Avis Metoyer; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; special friend, Sandra Evans; and son-in-law, Markus Howard. Darrell will be lovingly remembered as a man who gave freely of himself and treasured the people in his life. His laughter, kindness, generosity, and the special memories he created will continue to live in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
