Dawn Lecher
Means-Strange
July 20, 1973 – October 9, 2025
Dawn L. Means-Strange, affectionately known as "Mama Dawn" to many, was born on July 20, 1973, in Tampa, FL. Dawn was educated through the Hillsborough County school system. Dawn loved her family with all her heart. She made you laugh, cry, and most of all think for yourself. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, godmother, aunt, and friend. Dawn lived her life to the fullest with nothing left unsaid. She was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church of College Hill. She enjoyed the women's group WOW, Women of Worship.
Mama Dawn's greatest joy came from her babies, the love she had for each of them. Watching them grow, teaching them to walk, talk, and eat independently. Her final statement was to always seek God first in all things.
She was preceded in death by her father, Paul Means, Sr., and her grandmother, Jewel Carlton.
She leaves cherished memoires to her loving husband, Vincent Strange II; children, Jevonte Goffe, Denise Means, De'Anna Hill, Dayshia Russ-Means, Sapphire Lamar, Denise Vargas, and Mbabene Strange; grandchildren, Jaycielle Chapman, Jayden Chapman, and Malakhi Strange; godchildren, Marcus Milton Jr., Madison Middlebrooks, and Elijah Jackson; mother, Carolyn Means; brother, Paul Means, Jr.; aunts, Juanita Kennedy, and Anita Shipp; uncle, Norman Carlton; best friend, Kayella Corely, along with a host of family, and friends.
