Obituary

A Homegoing Celebration for Deacon Charles "PaPa" Peterson Jackson who passed away on September 30, 2020, will be held on Saturday, October 10th, 1:00 p.m., at Church of The Living God Gateway to Heaven, 3815 N. Phillips St., Pastor Ruby Baker, officiating. The interment will be in Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida. Deacon Charles "PaPa" Peterson Jackson was born on June 14, 1950 in Sneads, Florida. He served in the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam Era and was honorably discharged in 1974. He was affectionately known by many as "PaPa" and was employed at Tampa General Hospital where he worked for 25 plus years in various positions until his retirement. During his military and civilian service, he earned various awards, certificates, medals and honors. He was preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Rodia Jackson; sons, Carlos Pratt and Akanfi Pratt; brothers, Milton Jackson Jr., Emanuel Charles Jackson, Thomas J. Jackson, Abraham Jackson and Nathaniel Jackson; sisters, Rachel Dawkins, Marion Baldwin and Brenda Rawls; grandson, John Thomas Pratt Jr.; granddaughter, Dallas Curry. He leaves to cherish his memories a devoted wife, Ann Jackson, sons, Charles Peterson Jackson Jr., Luther Pratt and John Pratt; daughters, Tremicolus (Ed) Fagan, Monica (Bobby) Williams Sr., Sonya Pratt and Aretha (James) McGill; brother, Joseph (Catherine) Jackson; sisters, Christella Clark (Tavoris), Carolyn Jackson, Peggy Wright, Pamela Thomas, Sandy Reid, and Patricia Gilbert; uncle, Rufus Rawls; aunt, Pastor Ruby Baker; nephews, Abraham Jackson, Emanuel Jackson Jr. (Janay), Michael Dawkins, Bruce Dawkins, Timothy Dawkins, Eddie Lee Dawkins, Carlos Baldwin, Johnathan Corker, Rodney Davis, Emanuel X. The visitation will be held on Friday, October 9th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The family will greet guest from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service. We are following the CDC guidelines.
