A Homegoing Memorial Celebration for Mrs. Debbie Anne Mercer of Tampa, Florida who passed away on Monday, April 18, 2022, will be held on Saturday, April 23rd, from 3:00-5:00p.m. at First Baptist Church of Highland Pines, 4711 E. 21st Street, Tampa, Florida 33605. Debbie worked for the City of Tampa as an office manager and legislative aide to the Tampa City Council. She was an advocate for the American Heart Association, Breast Cancer Awareness and a member of the Black History Committee for the City of Tampa. She was also a devoted member of her church, First Community Christian Church, Rev. Johnny L. Wright, pastor and the Eastern Stars Organization.

She leaves to cherish her beautiful memories a husband, Jarvis Mercer; 3 loving children, DeBreanna Petithomme (Levi), Jarvis Mercer II and Jeremiah Mercer; a loving and devoted mother, Ruby Babers of Union Springs, Alabama; brother Eddie Babers of Montgomery, Alabama; sister-in-law, Dorothy Nelson (Melvin); and a host of nieces, nephews, godchildren, friends and co-workers who will dearly miss her.
