Mrs. Delores Ann
Harris-Glenn
Sep 19, 1957 — May 31, 2026
Mother Delores Ann Harris-Glenn was born on Thursday, September 19, 1957, in Broward County, Florida, to Licey Walker, Jr. and Ella Mae Sykes Walker. She was the second child born into a loving family and was nurtured with values that would guide her throughout her life. Delores received her education through Broward County Public Schools and graduated from Boyd Anderson High School, class of 1975. Following graduation, she continued her studies at Florida Memorial University in Miami, Florida. Delores was first united in marriage to Mr. Lucius A. Harris, Sr. From this union, three sons were born: Lucius A. Harris, Jr., who preceded her in death at birth; Dr. Lucius Allen Harris II, affectionately known as “Tank”, and Joshua Shawn Harris, affectionately known as “Boshy.” To know Delores was to know a woman whose greatest joy was being a mother. She loved and cherished her children wholeheartedly and took tremendous pride in their lives and accomplishments.
Throughout her professional career, Delores faithfully served her community in various capacities. She was employed by Broward County Parks and Recreation as a Park Ranger and later worked for Sears Roebuck in the appliance department, where her exceptional customer service earned numerous accolades and letters of appreciation from satisfied customers. She eventually devoted the remainder of her working years to the Broward County School Board, faithfully serving the students, staff, and families of Riverland Elementary School and Margate Middle School. Retirement did not slow Mother Delores' servant's heart. Instead, her home became a haven for children whose parents entrusted them to her loving care. To many, she was simply "Nana." She nurtured, protected, encouraged and loved these children as her own, leaving an indelible mark on their lives. Their laughter, affection and presence often gave her renewed strength during some of her most difficult health challenges.
Delores’ spiritual journey began at Little Church By The Wayside For Jesus, where she gave her life to Christ. During a powerful service, following the preached Word, Reverend Aretha B. Washington laid hands on her, and Delores was filled with the Holy Ghost and Fire. She faithfully served in ministry and as Rev. Washington’s personal assistant and secretary for many years, receiving invaluable spiritual guidance and impartation. Later, she continued her spiritual growth at Committed To The Cause Ministry under the leadership of Overseer Dr. Freddie C. Bryant and Apostle Dr. Clinton Bryant, Jr. The wisdom, teaching and impartation she received throughout her Christian journey blossomed into a ministry of encouragement, prayer and intercession. God used Mother Delores as a vessel to uplift, strengthen, and inspire countless lives. In recognition of her faithfulness and spiritual leadership, she was elected National Mother of The ACTS Fellowship of Churches by Presiding Prelate Apostle Dr. Clinton Bryant, Jr. On Saturday, October 19, 2013, at 1:00 p.m., Delores was united in holy matrimony to Mr. James Glenn, Sr. Together they shared more than twelve wonderful years of love, companionship, support, travel, and treasured memories. In 2023, following the leading of the Holy Spirit, they relocated to Tampa, Florida, to be closer to their children and grandchildren.
Upon moving to Tampa, Delores and James joined Remnant of Truth Ministries under the leadership of her eldest son, Pastor Dr. Lucius A. Harris II. There, she became an integral part of the ministry, faithfully praying, interceding, and encouraging everyone she encountered. On Sunday, October 19, 2025, Mother Glenn stood in the pulpit for the final time and delivered a heartfelt message to the congregation entitled, “The Posture of the Heart.” More than twenty-five years ago, Delores was diagnosed with Lupus. Where many might have surrendered to the challenges of the disease, she chose to fight. Her courage, resilience and unwavering faith became an inspiration to countless others. She became an advocate for Lupus awareness and was often invited by medical professionals to share her testimony with support groups and fellow patients, offering hope and encouragement through her own experiences. In her final days, Delores was surrounded by those she loved most, sharing laughter, stories, and precious memories. On Sunday, May 31, 2026, at 12:44 a.m., at Tampa General Hospital, Mother Delores Harris-Glenn, with a willing and resounding “Yes,” answered the call of God and transitioned from labor to eternal rest.
She leaves to cherish her memory and carry forward her legacy: her devoted husband, Mr. James Glenn Sr.; loving parents, Mr. Licey Walker, Jr. and Ms. Ella Mae Sykes-Walker; beloved sons, Dr. Lucius Allen Harris II and Joshua Shawn Harris (Dori); and her cherished grandchildren, Ashley, Joshua, Jr., Jeremy and Jurnei. She also leaves two stepchildren, James Glenn, Jr. (Tameka) and Tim Glenn (Jessica); three sisters, Julia Walker-McKinnon, Kathy Bain (Gerald) and Sylvia Woodson; four brothers, Derek Walker (Adrienne), Michael Walker (Sandra), Kelvin Walker (Bernice) and Steve Woodson; two bonus daughters, Temperance Escobar (Jose) and Tisha Browne (Alexander); and two bonus sons, Pastor Demetrius Lee (Tujuana) and Executive Pastor Donte McClaine. She is further survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and dear friends whom she loved deeply and who loved her in return. Though Mother Delores Harris-Glenn has entered eternal rest, her legacy of faith, perseverance, compassion, and unwavering love will continue to live on in the countless lives she touched. Her life was a testimony of God's grace, and her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those blessed to know her. "Well done, thou good and faithful servant... enter thou into the joy of thy Lord." —Matthew 25:23
