A Homegoing Celebration for Ms. Deloris Thompson, who passed away on Thursday, February 3, 2022, will be held on Saturday, February 26th, 10:00 a.m., at Aikens Funeral Home, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd, Tampa, FL. Rev. Michael Neely officiating. Deloris Devone Thompson, affectionately known as "Lois", was born on April 13, 1953, to the late Frank and Odessa Williams Sr, in Tampa, FL. She grew up in an exceptionally large family, as the 6th child of 14 children, with 9 sisters and 4 brothers. Very early on in life, Lois knew she had a gift with having an eye for style and designing. Lois' love for fashion and style contributed to her becoming the family's unofficial stylist/decorator. Deloris graduated from Miami Carol City High School in 1971. After various entry-level jobs, she decided to put her love for styling to the test and enrolled in beauty school. Soon after completing beauty school, Lois welcomed her daughter, Lynette in July 1982. Deloris later met and married Alvin Thompson. In that union, she had her daughter Adrienne, and gained 3 bonus daughters, Carole, Nicola, and Peaches. Lois was a blessing to all she met. She was the life and light to the Williams family. She was a very generous woman with a huge heart, who didnt let too many things get her down. She adored her grandchildren. She loved to do arts and crafts with them, cook with them but most of all sing and dance with them.

Deloris was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Linda Williams, Marva Ables, Valerie Patterson, Genora Gilmore, and Clara Williams; brother, Frank Williams.; and stepdaughter, Carole Thompson. Loving memories will be cherished by her husband, Alvin Thompson; children, Lynette Jackson, Adrienne Williams (Christian), Peaches Thompson, Retrievia Quaqua (Eastman), and Nicola Blake (Chesley); siblings, Letitia Bowers (Samuel), Nellie Williams, Cary Williams, Antoinette Greene, Alex Williams, Althea Gonzalez (Waldemar) and Christopher Williams; 2 best friends, Ben Cooper, and Gwendolyn Graham; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, February 25th, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home on Saturday for the service. We are following CDC guidelines.
