Homegoing services for Mr. Demario Gerald Edwards who passed away Friday, October 9, 2009, will be held Saturday, October 17th, 2:00 p.m., St. John Cathedral, 3401 E. 25th Avenue, Bishop Eddie Newkirk, pastor officiating. Demario Gerald Edwards was born in Tampa, Florida on November 14, 1989 to Mr. Byron Edwards, Sr. and Ms. Tangla Mack. Demario was a graduate of Hillsborough High School. At a young age he acknowledged a belief in Jesus Christ. As a youth he enjoyed playing baseball, basketball and spending time with his family and friends. At the time of his passing, Demario was employed at B& D Supermarket. He was preceded in death by his father, Byron Edwards, Sr., step-grandfather, Robert Lee Walker, grandmother, Eloise Tucker and grandfather, Perry Edwards. He leaves to cherish loving memories with: his mother, Tangla Mack (Colin Austin, Sr.); grandparents, Rutha M. Walker, Andrew B. Mack, Louise Edwards and Mary Austin; brothers, Tavaras Holmes, Sr., Bryan Edwards, Byron Edwards, Jr., Colin Austin, Jr. and Calvin Reese; sisters, Quanethia Edwards and Latasha Austin; great-aunt, Fannie Riggins; aunts, Linda Hardy, Priscilla Stevens (Bob), LaWanda Carey (Keith); great-uncle, Nathaniel Cole; uncles, Andrew Mack and Ray Jackson; nephews, Tavaras, Jr., Tabias, Cedrick, Coby, Calvin and Winston; niece, Quaniyah; special friend, Marnita Stephens; a host of sorrowing cousins, family, friends and co-workers. The remains will repose at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church for the service.
