Funeral services for Mr. Demond C. Townes, Sr. who passed away on Saturday May 21, 2016 will be held Friday May 27, 2016 at Aikens Funeral Home, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd, Tampa, Florida 33610 from 5pm-8pm with Masonic Rites starting at 6:30 p.m. The graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery, 4615 E Hanna Ave, Tampa, Florida 33610, Rev. Mountry Shaw, officiating. Demond was born on January 16, 1974 to Clarence 'Duke' Townes and Rosezlla Vereen Lopez. He was the proud owner of Demond C. Townes, Inc., Flooring and More. He attended Love First Christian Center and was active member of RL Stevens #580 and Worthy Patron of Sensational Stars #648 of International Free & Accepted Modern Masons Inc. and Order of Eastern Star. He graduated from Tampa Bay Vocational Technical High School, class of 1992. He loved whatever football team was winning except his wife's beloved Tampa Bay Buccaneers, traveling and cooking for 'his Pumpkin' but most of all was a great husband, father, brother and friend! After a long fought journey from suffering a stroke back on October 23, 2014. Demond leaves to cherish his memories a devoted wife, Meshika Townes; children, Diamond Townes, Keyon Rivers, Demond Townes, Jr. and Destiny Townes; Jontae Jenkins and TyRe'Onna Williams; grandchildren, Skyla and Tyrin, Jr.; parents, Clarence Townes and Rose Lopez; brothers, Damien and Devin Townes and Derek Lopez; sisters, Kawanis (Raheem) Gordon and Daniella Lopez; in-laws, Reverend MB and Annie Shaw; brothers-in-law, Naguai Edwards, Antoine Walters, Montray (Melissa), Kirby and Juvonne Mack, Montray and Jamie Shaw; sisters-in-law, D'Adrian Abrom, Royale Edwards and Julia Shaw; God family, James and Melphie Goodwin, James Jr. and Jennifer Goodwin.
