Dennis B.
Grier
January 10, 1966 – March 2, 2026
Mr. Dennis Bernard Grier, affectionately known as "Den" was born on January 10, 1966, in Tampa, FL, to James and Clydie Grier. Dennis studied Auto Body Repair at Tampa Bay Technical High School, where he graduated in 1986. He later expanded his skills by studying welding at Erwin Technical College, where he received his certification in Shielded Metal Arc Welding and National Commemorative Certificate. He was handy, loving, kind, intelligent, wise, and faith-filled. A man who loved to work with his hands, Dennis was talented in many trades, including welding, heavy equipment operation, and electrical work. He was employed with the Florida State Fairgrounds as a Lead Maintenance Technician. Dennis enjoyed working on anything he could possibly fix or improve, always eager to put his skills to good use.
For 34 years, Dennis was a faithful and devoted member of Riverhills Church of God. His life reflected his deep faith, humility, and commitment to serving others. Known throughout his community as a loving, giving, and friendly person, Dennis was always ready to lend a helping hand. His words of encouragement and personal motto, "In the moment; one day at a time," inspired many who knew him. Dennis was a kind, humble, and faith-filled man whose generosity and willingness to help others made a lasting impact on everyone he encountered.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Grier; brothers, Kenneth Lee Grier and James Enorris Grier; aunts, Corine Young, Lizzie Mae Grier and Florine Gardner; uncles, Murray Young, Andrew Grier and Lonnie Grier; stepson, Travis Samples; and sister-in-law, Yvonne Grier.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories his beloved wife, Kelly Grier; loving mother, Clydie Grier; devoted son, Jermaine Grier; stepson, Cody Samples; loyal brothers, Jerome Grier (Sylvia), Michael Grier, Stephen Grier (Porsha), and Derrick Grier (Mattie); aunts, Mable Young of Tampa, Florida, and Delores Grier of Newark, New Jersey; uncle, Raymond Grier (Nancy); special niece, Jasmine Gandy (Marco); dear sister-in-law, Pamela Soto; special friends, Duany Dallas, Sr. (Angelia); along with a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and friends who will forever cherish his memory. Dennis' life was a testament to faith, hard work, family, devotion and quiet strength. We take comfort in the words of scripture: "Well done, good and faithful servant!" -Matthew 25:23. His motto was taking one at a time and being good for the moment. His presence brought comfort and inspiration to those who knew him.
