Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Diane Moore Shelton of Tampa, Florida who passed away Saturday, March 5, 2016 will be held Monday, March 14th, 11:00 a.m., Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Blvd, Rev. Michael Neely, officiating. The interment will be in Florida National Cemetery. Mrs. Diane Deborah (Moore) Shelton was born on June 13, 1950 to the parents of Ernest Moore and Harriett Patrick Moore in Mount Vernon Hospital in Mount Vernon, New York. Diane received her education through Mount Vernon public schools. Diane accepted Christ as her Savior many years ago and was baptized. In her leisure time, she enjoyed giving her time and home to anyone in need and cooking for her family, closest friends and new friends. She always opened her doors to anyone.Once you were a part of her circle you were family. Diane worked for Lillian Vernon catalog in Mount Vernon, New York for many years and worked her way up to store manager in White Plains, New York. She moved and retired to Florida and worked as a receptionist for Re/Max Acr Elite Group in Tampa, Florida. Diane was truly blessed. She was preceded in death by her loving and wonderful husband, Elbert 'Fuzzy' Shelton, they were 'Solid as a Rock'; her loving mother, Harriet Moore; brother Ernest Moore; stepdaughter, Pamela Shelton; grandson, David Shelton; her uncles, James, Ardise, Charlie and Cleophus 'Clee' Moore; aunt, Emma Moore Blount; her grandparents, Charlie and Clara (Mann) Moore and Henry and Katie (Franey) Patrick. Diane is survived by her amazing father, Ernest Moore, Sr. 'Cheese'; her children, Desiree Moore and Micheal Moore; step-children, Patricia Rivers, Johnny White and Charles Shelton; grandchildren, Devon, Desiree, Ian and Madison Moore, Robert and Darrell Gordon, Sensa Velasquez, Chardeni and Charniqua Shelton; great grandchildren, Ian and Jazymn Moore, Jocelyn Gordon,Mason Moore, Josias Gordon andLondon Shelton; wonderful aunt, Ann (Patrick) Clark, brothers, Dwayne and Dwight; sister, Lisa; sisters-in-law, Leona and Sandy Moore; special thanks and love to her cousin Erin-Jo Tompkins and her two best friends Sonya Newman and Linda Lopez and a host of cousins and all of her amazing family and friends. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Saturday, March 12th from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel on Monday for the service.
