Homegoing celebration for Mrs. Dorothy Brown Giddens of New York who passed away Friday, January 10, 2014 will be held Saturday, January 18th at 2:00 p.m., Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, 2708 E. Dr. MLK Jr. Blvd, Pastor Quantai Washington, officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Dorothy Brown was born on June 25, 1939 in Jackson, Mississippi. She was a devoted daughter, sister, mother, aunt, grandmother and friend. She was a faithful servant of the Lord through Thessalonian Baptist church for over fifty years. She practiced her vocation of nursing for over thirty five years at Harlem Hospital. She leaves to cherish her memories with her grandsons, Tyrone and Duane Ball of Tampa, FL; her mother, Terlena Daniels of Jackson Mississippi; sisters, Irma Williams of Sanfrancisco, California and Betty Daniels of New York City; brothers, Spencer Daniels and Wife of Oakland, California and H. Pau Daniels and wife of Irving, Texas; along with a multitude of mourning family members and friends. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, January 16th from 5 to 8 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel on Saturday for the service.
