Homegoing services for Mrs. Dorothy M. Green who departed this life on Monday, July 26, 2010, will be held on Saturday, August 7th, 11: 00 a.m. at Allen Temple A.M.E. Church, 2101 N. Lowe Street, Pastor Michael K. Bouie, officiating. Interment will be in Orange Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Dorothy M. Green was born April 16, 1933 in Monticello, Florida, to the late David Williams and Laura Bellamy Williams. She attended the School of Monticello Jefferson County Public School System. She was converted at an early age at New Bethel A.M.E. Church, Monticello, Florida, before moving to Tampa in 1953. She became a member of Allen Temple A.M.E. Church on February 12, 1957. Mrs. Green was a longtime employee for 35 years at Tampa General Hospital, before retiring. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Green, Sr. and sons, Ronnie L. Green and Dale L. Green and one stepson, Marion Green, Jr.; three brothers, Clarence Williams, Freddie Williams, James Bellamy and one sister, Louise Williams. She leaves to cherish her in memory a son, Marion B. and Sandra Green; two daughters, Margaret and Earnest Washington, Twanda Green and Clarence, all of Tampa.; two stepdaughters, Patricia and Henry Smith of Palmetto, FL, and Marian Deboise of Gainesville, FL; eight grandchildren, Shireka, Rachael, Joni, Michael, Earnest Jr., Marion Jr., all of Tampa, Ronnie Jr. and Karon of Monticello, FL; a very special devoted grandchild Shireka Daniels; seven great grandchildren, five in Tampa, two in Monticello; adopted godparents, Wilbert and Patricia Malphus of Tampa; two brothers, Glen Williams and David Williams of Tampa; five sisters, Mary Montgomery of Tampa, Doreatha Williams of Wesley Chapel, Nellie Kay Akins of Monticello, and Josephine Parker and Mary Gunner of Rochester, NY; and a host of in laws, uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren and friends. The viewing will be held at Aikens Funeral Home Friday, August 6th from 5-8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. Family and friends are asked to meet at the church for the service.
