In Memory of Mrs. Dorothy Mable Fuller Lowery of Tampa, who passed away on April 7, 2013 in her hometown of Tifton, Georgia, A Homegoing service will be held on Saturday, April 20th, 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, 4008 Dr. C.P. Epps Drive, Jr. Blvd with Rev. Michael White, Pastor officiating. Interment will be Garden of Memories. Dorothy Mable Fuller was born on December 19, 1928 to the late Wright Fuller and Idella Gallmore Fuller, in Tifton, Georgia. She moved to Ft. Pierce, FL as an adult where she worked as a housekeeper and nanny for various families. She was a faithful member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church and served on various auxiliaries over the years, including the #1 and #2 choirs, the usher board, the sick and flower committee, kitchen aid and various special events committees. She was a godmother to many of the children of the Mt. Olive family who referred to her as "godma". Her favorite pass-time was shopping at various flea markets, farms and grove stands with the late Mother Louise Marshall, and sometimes Mother Ollie Rutledge and others. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie James Lowery; sisters, Evelena Green, Elizabeth Ganatt, Seretha Mason and Margaret (Naughty) Hester and first cousin, Lessie Mae Crittendren. She leaves behind in memory, her son, Lee Jenkins of Tampa, FL; sister, Mary Lee Chandler of New York , NY; brother-in-law, Rudolph Mason of Tifton, GA; nieces, Barbara Ann Mason, Betty Boyd Mason, Belinda Parks, Mary Ann Clark, Abigail Howard, Gloria Henderson, Gail Kimble Mason, Greta Sims, Carolyn Jones and Shirley Farrell; nephews, Rudolph Mason, Jr., Anthony Mason and Edward Harris, Sr.; and a host of grand nieces, grand nephews, other relatives, godchildren and friends. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, April 19th, from 5-8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
