Homegoing graveside service for Ms. Dorothy W. Jackson of Tampa who passed away on Saturday, February 20, 2016, will be held on Friday, February 26th, 10:30 a.m. at Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery, 4615 E. Hanna Ave., Tampa, Florida 33610. The interment will follow the service. Dorothy W. Jackson was born on December 15, 1932 in Dade City, Florida to Grace B. Walker. "Dot" as she was affectionately called loved God and honored the Word of God. She was reared as a child by her mother and grandfather knowing that God loved her. She graduated from Middleton Senior High School, Tampa, Florida in 1950. She received a bachelor's degree in Education from Tuskegee University, Tuskegee, Alabama in 1963. She worked in the field of education in Alabama and Florida. Dorothy was preceded in spiritual transition by her grandparents, Jim and Lillie Mae (Jackson) Bivens; mother, Grace B. Walker; brother, Lloyd C. Walker and uncle, Ed Bivens. Many will cherish the wisdom and words of encouragement; including sons, Michael L. Hilliard (Deloris), Robert L. Jackson IV (Elaine) and Edwin B. Jackson; daughter, Sheryl L. Jackson; grandchildren, Michael "Dimond" Hilliard, Robert Jackson V (Janell), Tiffany Jackson, Dana Hilliard, Kaila Humphrey and Jimmie Jordan; great grandchildren, Ramaria Jackson, Jacques Williams, Michael X. Joyner and Robert Jackson VI; sister-in-law, Audrey Walker; nephew, Wendell W. Walker (Vivian); niece, Joan Walker; great niece, Joi Walker; and a host of other relatives and friends. The family and friends are asked to meet at the graveside for the service on Friday.
