MRS. DORSEY HUNTER "DOT" The Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Dorsey Hunter, affectionately called "Dot", of 5602 N. 32nd St.., who passed away Sunday, December 21, 2008, will be held Saturday, December 27th, 11:00 a.m., at Allen Temple A.M.E. Church, 2101 N. Lowe St., Rev. Willie J. Cook, pastor/officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Hunter was born March 17, 1924 in Benton, Mississippi to the late Adam and Hattie Martin. She was a member of Allen Temple A.M.E. Church and a member of the choir. Mrs. Hunter took pleasure in fishing, cooking and gardening and was a life time member of the Order of Eastern Stars. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Joe Willie Hunter, Sr.; son, Mr. Darnell Leroy Hunter; father, Mr. Adam Martin, Sr.; mother, Mrs. Hattie Martin; 3 brothers, Mr. Charlie Warren Jones, Mr. Adam Martin, Jr. and Mr. Melvin Martin. She leaves a loving legacy to cherish in the hearts of: her children, Mrs. Irene Brinson (Freddie), Ms. Jacquelyn Hunter, Joe Willie Hunter, Jr., Frederick Adam Hunter and Reginald Bernarda Hunter; grandchildren, Mr. Freddie Brinson, Jr. (Jencey), Dr. Sabrina Brinson, Ms. Taranda Hunter, Ms. Cecilia Hunter and Mr. Kareem Jamell Hunter; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Daryll, Shavonne, Freddie, ShaTayshia and Darnell; god-daughter, Mrs. Mary Taylor; sister-in-law, Mrs. Lottie Jones Watson; and a host of other relatives, friends and care givers too numerous to name. A special thank you to LifePath Hospice for your dedicated care and support. The remains will repose at Aikens Funeral Home Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The funeral cortege will arrange from 5602 N. 32nd St. Friends are asked to assemble at the church approximately 10:45 a.m. Saturday for the service.
