Homegoing services for Mr. Drolly Benniefield "GD" of Tampa who passed away on Friday, March 9, 2012, will be held on Saturday, March 17th 2:00 p.m. at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, with Rev. Shellie Trust, officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Drolly was born in Swingsberg, Georgia and enjoyed fishing. He was preceded in death by parents, Amos C. and Leila Benniefield, Sr; brothers, John Lewis and Amos G. Benniefield; sisters, Dora Benniefield and Leila Benniefield-Forbes. He leaves to cherish fond and loving memories with wife, Leola Benniefield; children, Gray "Buddy" and wife, Rita, Sabrina, Gegi and Cynthia; grandchildren, Zenobia, Javita, Joseph, Antwaun, Antonio, Arielle, Janora, Yolanda, Xavienne, Diamond and Mariah; brothers, Lem Benniefield, Samuel Kelly, Sr. and Bobby Usher; sisters, Susie Mae Laing, Ernestine Wiggins, Margaret Kelly and husband, Tiplin and Maggie Burch; family friend, Erma Benniefield and a host of sorrowing family and friends. The viewing will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, March 16th, from 5 to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 pm. The family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel at 1:45 pm on Saturday for the service.
