Anthony Pendleton
June 22, 1955 – September 29, 2025
Earl Anthony "Skip" Pendleton was born on June 22, 1955, to the late Freddie Pendleton and Doretha Fields in Tampa, Florida, and attended public schools in Hillsborough County. Skip enjoyed the fellowship he found in the Brotherhood Ministry at St. John Progressive Missionary Baptist Church, where he was proud to serve as a member of the Security Ministry and as a groundskeeper. Throughout his life, Skip held various jobs across the Tampa area, with a special talent for washing cars. In all his positions, he was known for his steady presence and his willingness to help wherever he was needed. Skip also enjoyed spending time with his cousins and cheering for his beloved Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Freddie Pendleton and Doretha Fields; brothers, Eugene Fields and Bernard Pendleton, Sr.; sister, Jackie Pendleton; nephew, Felix Pendleton; and cousins, Michael Davis, Darryl Gardner, and Herman Osby.
Skip leaves behind cherished memories in the hearts of his devoted wife of 20 years, Gloria Williams Pendleton; his sister, Theresa Gaddis (Herman); bonus children, Cheriese and Andrae Edwards; seven bonus grandchildren; and two bonus great-grandchildren. He is also survived by nephews, Derrick Bailey and Bernard Pendleton, Jr.; nieces, Rosita Donaldson (Howard Sr.) and Shanetta Pendleton of Miami, Florida; and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.
Skip's passing is mourned by family and friends from Thomasville, Georgia, to Miami, Florida, including the Black family, Rosa Triblings, Tampa Care, and Positively U. His legacy of love, service, and kindness will continue to live on in the lives of all who knew him.
