Celebration of life for Mr. Earl Bethel King, Sr. of Valdosta, Georgia who passed away December 23, 2014 in Valdosta, Georgia will be held Friday, January 2, 2015, 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church, 10930 U.S Hwy 301, and Thonotosassa, FL 33592, Pastor James Wolfe, officiating. The interment will be in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida. "Bethel" as he was affectionately known attended the schools of Hillsborough County, graduating from Gary Adult high school class of 1973, upon graduation he met the love of his life and married Betty Thomas and to that union five sons were born. Immediately after marriage he enlisted in the U.S. Army as a sergeant, where he served for 13 years ultimately retiring as "Captain Earl Bethel King, Sr." He received several degrees including a B.A in Aviation Administration and an A.S. Degree in Nursing. At the time of his demise he worked as a registered nurse. He was preceded in death by his loving big brother, Kelvin Z. King and many uncles, aunts, cousins and other family members. He leaves to cherish his memories with his loving, caring and devoted wife of 40 years, Mrs. Betty J. King of Valdosta, Georgia; 5 dutiful and attentive sons, Earl (Sarah), Michael, Antonio, David and Joshua King, all of Valdosta, Georgia; 3 loving grandchildren, Duwan Bell of Baltimore, MD and Zaniayah and Govenor King both of Tampa, FL; loving mother, Helen King of Tampa, FL; father, Kenneth King; 5 loving brothers, Dexter Burney ( Beverly) Robbie Burney ( Janet) of Tampa, FL Charles, Corey and Cyrus King of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, 7 loving sisters, Phyliss Davis (Jerry), Linda Lester, Elizabeth Jones (Ronald), Kayvette Burney of Tampa, FL, Fannie, Kay and Ceester all of Ft. The visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 31st from 4 to 6 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
